awoooooo!!! i had finally been to a big bad wolf sale.
but in reality, instead of howling in the exhibition hall, i was more like ahak ahak.....coughing dry coughs inside while browsing through the thousands of books available there.
this time, it is held in mines international convention centre in seri kembangan and it will be held till 15 december.
frankly, i had expected bigger hall and more books. haha...well, it called itself the world's biggest book sale. so it did not live up to its name in my mind.
i reached there at 9 plus and the crowd was quite thin. in fact, till the time i leave at 12, the crowd was still ok. it was not super crowded or anything. it was quite comfortable to browse through all the books on the tables here.
the first 30 minutes alone, i already had words swimming in my head. checking the titles and the synopsis had me drowned in words.
one tip to those who are planning to buy lots of books....bring a trolley bag or something you can pull along instead of carrying a box to fill your books. they have boxes for you to take but carrying a box is so troublesome. no wonder i saw so many people getting off their cars with trolley bags.
the books here are indeed cheap but not as many titles as i hoped for. they do have books of all genres; general fiction, pictures, young adult, cooking, sports, business, photography, architectural, manga, etc. i did not look through them all...only went to those i was interested in.
in the end, i left with 18 books while my aunt left with 8.
because i bought more than rm100 in a single receipt, i got to spin the lucky wheel. i got mystery price which turned out to be a knit kit for baby booties. well, totally useless for me and my aunt also does not understand the instruction.
i also got 4 t-shirts for cousins and nephew...well they sold 4 for rm100, so to save more, i had to get 4. the material is really good and i like the graphic and message.
here is a breakdown of the books i got:
books for my little nephew. his are the most expensive. that hungle beasts pop-up book cost me rm20. the other two books have moving parts too. hope he really gets to interact with the books.
akakaka.....an exercise book. i have always wanted an exercise ball....so now i get the book first. the ball will come later. need to strengten the body and tone those muscles.
all 6 books from alexander mccall smith and 5 from the no.1 ladies detective agency series. i love the detective. it is really entertaining.
2 books from author whose books i have read....so i trust that their writings are good.
i have read reviews about these 3 books....i have wanted to get five star billionaire when i read about the plot and hey, i am supporting another malaysian writer here.
have to read this book to see the real story since i have only read the abridged version for students.
two books which i randomly picked based on their synopsis.
i guess i am not really adventurous in my book selection eh. i look for books i know just to ensure that i will be reading good stuff. i really don't want to waste time reading lousy books since time to read is hard to come by nowadays.
after the book fair visit yesterday, i also went to do some shopping....for necessary stuff.
i had to replenish my supplement at pm wellness in subang jaya.
after that it was late lunch at the empire mall.
their christmas theme is a garfield christmas.
lunch was at rakuzen, a japanese restaurant. oh i ate till so full.
fish roe and crabmeat salad.
california roll.
udon with tempura.
green tea ice-cream and cheesecake.
my aunt and i shared everything.....we were full but not till to the nauseous point.
while browsing some stores here, i found a great pair of cotton baju kurung with beads sold at 50% discount. how to get it? i have always wanted cotton baju kurung and it makes me so sweet. hahahah...
so that was one day out of the house.
