beds and sores

gong xi fa cai...not yet lah...hahaha that was what brother told cousin yeelin who called from germany this morning. she got the date wrong and thought today was the first day of cny. i bet she will call again tomorrow morning with the same wish for everyone.

woke up with laughter this morning and mine you, i wasn't laughing alone. it was me together with jet and wei (2 brothers). gosh, family warmth and joy. those overseas will be so jealous now.
yesterday, aunt was watching tvb's 'dicey business' staring michael miu (aaa!! my handsome) on the computer. yeah, she knows how to switch it on, how to click on the episodes now HERSELF! and thus she has been hogging the computer since i got back. and ah jet is her sifu.

i slept on jet's bed while waiting for her to finish watching. i was supposed to sleep on the extra piece of mattress on the floor and wei on his own bed. but when we woke up at 9 this morning, i was still on the jet's bed. my head on jet's pillow. jet was on the mattress on the floor and his head on wei's pillow. wei is on his own bed and his head on his horizontally-laid bolster. wei was the first to break the silence when 3 of us opened our eyes at the same time. he said, 'aren't you supposed to sleep on the mattress?' then i burst out laughing and jet complained of sore neck followed by wei. i meanwhile complained of a sore back. only 3 of us could comprehend how funny the whole sleeping arrangement was.

but i tell you, the mother of all joke or 'mishap' was grandma's. before she slept yesterday, she rubbed some oilment on her neck and she fell asleep holding the bottle of ointment in her hand! can you believe that? and the result? her whole body was 'bathed' by that bottle and it seeped into her bedspread and her mattress. she could just fall asleep anywhere and in whatever position these days. yesterday i caught her with her back half-bent forward with her prayer beads sleeping. gosh, i woke her up and told her to go to sleep. shows just how frail she is getting now. but she is still a very healthy lady compared to others her age. so am just glad for that.
