travel plans, past and future

메리 크리스마스
and the above means merry christmas in korean ;)

wohoo....yes yes yes, i am booked for a week of holidays in korea during christmas. after much drama, according to my bestie, kien who did the booking and she was the one who invited me to tag along, i am booked to fly on 22 dec. although we will only have 5 full days in korea, it is going to be fun going on a holiday with her. we are going free and easy since she has a friend there who will play tour guide. i hope it is not going to be a freezing winter. i am expecting snow and cold but please, not something minus zero. i also have to thank my brother for agreeing to use his remaining leaves from work to come home to watch the house. tqtqtqtq.

and i booked another retreat this week too. come deepavali break, i will head to pulau banding belum temenggor rainforest resort. 3 days in the midst of nature. got this good deal from groupon after seeing the big 60% discount screaming in the advertisement. have heard so much about belum and i really relish the chance of being able to visit this protected rainforest. will be driving there with 3 other colleagues so it is bonding time again.

i also did some travelling this week.
went to teluk intan for seafood meal on friday but it was a rather 'rich' meal in term of taste so it did not feel good in the mouth.

assam style squid.

claypot fish..i have forgotten the fish used but i remember all the ginger and garlic found in the gravy. very very thick stew.

vege.

lai liu har- mantis prawns cooked with eggs. this is my favourite among all the dishes ordered that day. no shell, no bone.
last but not least, snail! oh i hate this. i sucked the end and the opening, and i sucked again, nothing came out. i sucked 2 snails and to no avail. so i gave up and proclaim my hatred for snails eaten from the shell. haha....i wonder if those who like this dish is because of the fun in sucking or the taste of the flesh of the snail?

2 friends who were in teluk intan joined us and they brought dessert- konyaku jelly. yummy. one of them is my cafe world neighbours and i finally met her in person. wakakka.....all 5 of us at the table are all cw players and naturally the topic of discussion was all the goals and missions in cw.

and on saturday. i went to sitiawan for a sports carnival at 5.30a.m. i took part in jogathon and ping pong. went there for the love of sports and if there is a medal to bring back, that would be the extra cherry on the cake. i am really half-baked at all games. an all-rounder but a master in none.

got some allowance for meal and petrol and free shirts for dad. i got 4, 2 from each game i took part in. there is no loss although i came back kinda empty handed in terms of winning lah.

this was the venue for jogathon, the field which is approximately 2.4km long in circumference. and how i hate it! why is running on the field and the road so so different? ok, now blame the ground for not being able to run fast. lol. the legs felt like it weighed 100kg and i was huffing and puffing. guess i am not material for running. people say i look athletics but i guess looks can really deceive. so now i can tell people that i only look athletic but i am no athlete. anyway, i got no 9 if you are curious.

and this was the venue for ping pong. in this game. it is proven that the older the ginger, the hotter it is. still don't understand? the games were dominated by those in the older age group. man, those aunties could really spin and screw the ball and smash too. they were fierce! i lost in the first round and that was the end. i guess those in the past only concentrated in one game or two but those in the present generation have to try all and thus become half-baked in all. agree?

what a week. in the coming week, i am going to be so free in the afternoons and nights since all classes are cancelled. so maybe one trip to ipoh?

oh, i am so looking forward to my holiday retreats. looks like the plan to buy a notebook is slowly fading out of the picture for now.
