eating at seven terraces

nom nom nom.....for whatever i am paying at seven terraces, the breakfast is worth every penny ;)
call us gluttons....but we did order everything we could order on the menu.
yup, you can order whatever you want as long as the kitchen is open.

this is the menu and there are 9 different items you can order. we ordered 7 on the first day ... i guess we were really hungry or maybe we just couldn't believe our luck.

the coffee was not so good...it was slightly bitter and not aromatic at all.

the safer bet is the tea.

there was also orange juice and fruit platter. i love the fruit platter especially the passion fruit they sprinkled on top. the platter consisted of banana, papaya, watermelon and pineapple. i made sure i drink up every drop of the passion fruit juice left in the bowl when i had finished eating the fruits.
slurp.
and of course, the newspaper accompanied me during breakfast.

big breakfast.

roti paratha. the roti  was those frozen one but the dhaal was good.

pancakes...so-so.

croissant sandwich....good. very filling.

char siew pau. good too.

french toast with maple syrup. another good one.

egg benedict. the egg was quite overcooked as the yolk was not runny at all.

nasi lemak. obviously i did not eat this because i don't eat coconut milk rice. those who had this said that the rice was too heavy and strong of coconut milk and the sambal was not good.

muesli. not something i would eat too but those who had it said it was really good.

so all in all the breakfast was  a grand eating affair. we were more moderate on the second day and cut down on the number of items ordered. if i am not wrong, we ordered only 5.

i also had another meal at the hotel, at its restaurant- kebaya. the rest did not eat with me as they chose to go and try charcoal steamboat. i had tried that steamboat before when i went to penang with my siblings and cousin.

the restaurant had a piano and a pianist playing life music while you eat.
they have a 4-course degustation menu at rm100. but i was told by the waiter that, as i was a 'resident' at the hotel, i could choose only 2 courses for my meal instead of 4. however, i still chose the 4-course menu as i was curious to try what they had to offer.

so it was me all alone and my sunday newspaper which i had not finished reading.

one of the signature cocktails. can't remember what it is called but it was good althought a bit pricey. rm26 if i am not wrong.

appetiser. can't recall its name. there was dried beancurd, chicken, egg and peanuts.

i got to choose a vegetable dish and another one with meat. i chose mix vege because the other three in the menu were all cooked with sambal belacan. sort of regretted ordering the soft shell crab with mango salad dish. should have ordered the lamb instead. well, too much vege is never a wrong i guess. the soft shell crab was good though.

panna cotta for dessert. i have eaten smoother panna cotta but this wasn't that bad.

i guess the food met my expectation but i wish i had someone to share them with. i did not finish my main courses and really took my time slowly with every scoop. so a word of advice: share the meal with someone and if you think you need some extra appetiser or dessert, you can order them. just add rm25 for one. and if you wnat to order another main dish, just add rm45.
