all in a day's work

let's give a little update here before this blog goes all cold and no one bothers to check for updates anymore lol ;)

had a really tiring day yesterday and that patch under the eye is really darkening in colour. when will ever get to repay all the sleep debt i owe since my trip to kuala lumpur for that meeting last week??

sunday was all about pest control at home.
i got a friend of a friend to come to settle the problem of the birds that build nest at the windows shutters in my brother and my room. the birds are really a nuisance making unnecessary chirping noises early in the morning before my wake up time and disturbing my sleep. not to mention the danger of their droppings too if inhaled.

the device above is an ultrasonic sound projector to ward off lizards, rats, ants and cockcroaches. i just need to plug it to a power point and it should do its work. the rats are also a nuisance in the house. gosh, my house is really pest infested!!!

these are the spokes which are put into the window shutters to prevent birds from lingering around and getting a chance to slowly assemble their nests. i hope they really work. these spokes are not cheap and they are all stainless steel. mom called yesterday afternoon saying there was a bird still perched on one of the shutters without spokes, well, i hope it was just perching there and not planning to linger longer. i will go crazy 'harassed' by these irritating birds.

lastly, we also got the prayer altar sprayed with anti-termite chemical. we had to take out everything from the cabinet, moved it outside, got it sprayed, let it dry and then carry it back. phew, luckily there were a few extra pairs of hands available.

all these stuff cost me rm2000. man, what a big hole in my pocket. well, if i can get some peace in the house away from all the pests, i guess it will be worth it.

now to how yesterday tire me.
it was the annual district level athletics championship again. but this time around, the events were not held from morning. it only started at 2.30pm. imagine the heat and how cramped the schedule was.
i only got home at 9.30pm last night after sending the students home, one in sungkai and the other in kuala bikam. these 2 places are really far!

the stadium when everyone had left at 7p.m. we took our own sweet time to pack and leave. it was so peaceful there.

i also managed to spend some time in the gym. ahhaa....was soooo looking forward to some exercises and thank god, the gym opened as scheduled, at 5.

this was what i managed to do. a really really good sweat. and i felt great!

also brought the kids to the lake at proton city, the sunset was beautiful and it was the first time i stayed till so late. can you see the reflection of the sun in the water??  love the colours of the sky.

lastly, we had dinner in tm, at e-place before heading back. back in bidor, i would not have anything for dinner, hence it was wise to stop by and eat in tm first. it was already 7 plus anyway.

blackpepper udon was what ordered.

today is my day of rest. tomorrow and thursday, it would be one whole day at the stadium....and i will be looking forward to another round on the treadmill. my left knee is feeling rather stiff and i am having slight pain going up and down the stairs, but i will still run on the treadmill. running on the road is definitely a big no-no.
