to bath, england

i have been really really busy at work these few days.....
sorry to those who have been checking every day and for those who have been waiting for more stories of my trip to england. have been staying on the field every day and tomorrow, there is one more day to go. can't wait for the weekend to come.

anyway, let's go to england now. first destination after landing at heathrow from paris: bath on 2 june 2011.

but before that, we went to pick up our car at alamo car-rental.

we got this vauxhall insignia and the car boot was big enough to put 3 of our 4 luggage bags. the 4th had to go into the back seat in the middle while 2 passengers sat at both sides. it is a spacious car and quite powerful and because of that...ooh....it guzzled oil too! waaa!!! oil is soo expensive in the uk. this is not a diesel car! in the end, before we returned the car 2 days later, we had to pump in around 65 pounds of petrol because we had to return the car with full tank.

with the help of the gps, we managed to reach our destination in bath after 2 hours.
walton villa. a cosy little place run by michael and carole.

my room, the one with twin beds. you just dun want to get up from the bed once you have put yourself on it. words just can't finish describing the cosiness i felt. haha

breakfast room

the room wih the queen-sized

the yummy breakfast prepared by the couple during our stay there. staying there for the breakfast is already worth your money. it was totally scrumptious. the grilled mushrooms!!! gosh. and it was my first time having poached egg. see that two white round things in the bottom picture? those 2 were my poached eggs. i think they are done just right although i don't really know what the right texture for poached egg is. ;P
the breakfast kept us filled till noon.

well, since we arrived at bath at 5p.m. and after settling down it was almost 6, we walked towards the city searching for food.

i found lime lounge, which was highly recommend on tripadvisor website and sure enough, it did not disappoint.

had fish dishes, tomato soup and local beer. love my first meal of fish and chips. love love love the batter. don't think fish batter in the uk is halal since they include beer in the making of the batter. was very very filling.

royal victoria park is just 2 blocks away from walton villa.

bath botanical garden

royal crescent. a row of houses in the shape of a crescent. i guess the only attraction here is the shape of the houses. you can wikipedia for more information.

well, that is all for today. will try to write more come weekend.

22 june, 7p.m.

peng2...you read review before going to lime lounge? we sat inside. quite cold outside. i like to be warm when eating. haha.. the staff is friendly but the place is a bit small loh. space is expensive i guess. so not used to it especially in france too.
