so-so places in yunnan- parks parks and parks

do you like parks?? with seagulls and lakes and fresh air and lots of greens and colourful flowers??

well, i do, but not when you have to rush through them and just be there to take photos.

i think parks are ubiquitous in china and everywhere you go, you will definitely find them even in the busiest cities.

starting your day with a walk or exercises in the park is definitely a way to a healthy life....and no wonder china has an aging population. the elderly are the ones you see in the parks and they are not sitting there to chat, they are there to dance, play games and practise tai chi and swords.

let me share some of the pictures of parks with you here and be green with envy with the serene atmosphere there. maybe it will take your mind off your worries or anxieties for a while.

park 1- dunno what's its name. in kunming

seagulls which came to escape the cold in siberia. we were lucky i guess to be there at the right time. they would leave in about 10 days' time after our visit.

haha....staying under the colourful umbrella to avoid any birds' droppings. yup, a few were 'lucky' enought to be 'blessed' by the birds hehehe....

all birds in flight. it was waaaayyyy prettier than this shot.

like in the old movie....unfortunately, i was all alone without a partner.

park 2: da guan pavilion park, also in kunming

creative ways to use umbrella.

gates...
and more gates...

beautiful arch with flowers...
another umbrella art

see what i mean? all elderly practising their tai chi and all hale and hearty

little girl feeding birds. couldn't get a better shot. disappointed. it could be better but there was hardly any time to linger longer.

poppy flowers.

this park is famous for the two lines of couplets (blue panels with gold etchings) you see by the side of the entrance of this pavilion. sorry i can't elaborate more...dun even know who wrote it and what it meant.

locals feeding the birds while their friends try to get a nice shot.

park 3: black dragon pool park in li jiang

civilization gate

draught's effect on the pool

see beyong the park....jade dragon snow mountain. just can't stop taking photos of those snow-capped peaks.

another pavilion in the middle of the already dried area of the lake.

so, do you feel better after looking at these photos? ;)

have a good rest tomorrow. it is the king's installation holidays tomorrow.
keeping my fingers crossed that my broadband limit can still last till friday.....that is when it will be reset.
