father's day and thermos

it is father's day today and this is what i got for my dad.

a bicycle helmet from reebok for him to use when he goes for his evening cycling trip. nice and sharp colour huh??
hmmmh.....why can't asian fathers just accept what they get graciously??? he feared he might be robbed and the estate workers would want to take his helmet when he goes cycling there. aduh! anyway, the helmet fits his head as it has an adjustable strap at the back. ngam ngam ah. hope he will use it and not end up as a white elephant. afterall, i am just thinking about his safety. .......or else i also dunno what to get him lol

this week, the chinese celebrated duanwu festival on the 5th of may in the chinese lunar calendar. there was no rice dumpling to eat when i was at work. luckily, mom decided to make some and i got my dumplings in the weekend.

they were quite small due to the size of the dried bamboo leaves. my favourite filling in a rice dumpling is the piece of succulent pork belly. yummy. dinner on monday and tuesday here will be rice dumpling. one for each day. there is no more at home......maybe the freezer has a few for my aunt.

can you make out the fruit in the picture?? lychee! well, the green is not that appetising but luckily the flesh inside is thick and sweet. have been having lychees two weeks in a row now.

one more food picture. try as i might not to feed myself with junk food, i couldn't stop myself from having kfc this week when i saw the poster.

they are celebrating their 40th anniversary in malaysia and have special thermos cup to commemorate this special date. the price inclusive of tax is rm26.30 and they even gave you a combo snack plate meal when you purchase the thermos cup. is it a good deal or what?

well, i think it is a good deal, hence i have got one thermos cup. the colour here is bronzite brown and i also like the red one. i think i have promoted this deal to some people already and kfc has managed to sell a few more thermos cups. well, good deals are meant to be shared right???
am wondering if i should go and get the red one as well.....and stuff my stomach with more fried chicken....hmmmhhhh......
