the bus ride from kew to the city took me about 20 minutes and it was straight to the last stop.
yeelyn was already waiting for me at the bus stop when i stepped off the board. yippeee.....
first destination: ticketmaster office to buy tickets to watch king kong the musical at regent theatre that night.
so we went to the outlet across federation square and got my tickets. yeah! it was either king kong or the jazz festival that night and king kong attracted me more. don't think i will know how to appreciate jazz so that will be a waste of money.
from flinders street, we walked back to the state library to check out the interior of the building. there was a lot to walk on that day. gosh, my legs were tired. luckily the weather was not too cold.
see, flowers are still blooming.
the state library really does have a lot of things to check out. they have ongoing exhibitions and anyone can just walk in to get a book to read. it is so user-friendly.
portraits of famous ppl in australian history.
the dome area. gosh, i do love the arrangements of the reading tables and the green lamp shades.
the dome-shaped roof.
we walked all the way up to level 5 just to get a view from the top....and i was impressed.
a spiral staircase but it was closed.
exhibition of books that changed the world. see the little red book of mao zedong??
stain glass of william shakespeare.
my brother has already joined us by then and we went looking for some food. we reached hardware lane and i got my macaroons again.
a box of 6 macaroons and we sat down at the french cafe next door to have some nice crepe. it was good, the one that i ordered was pear and chocolate. it was not too sweet, just right.
said goodbye to yeelyn and we headed to get the car to meet my sister to go to eureka skydeck.
it is dark inside the sky deck.
but not the view outside......those two burst of flames were the ones in front of crowne.
after about 20 minutes viewing on the deck, it was time to head down to earth. love the cheeky sign.
this is eureka tower from outside.
then it was dinner time.
italian food.
risotto with mussels, scallops, fish and prawns. and a pizza with spicy dried chilli. both were really good.
we were seated outside at the terrace of the restaurant.
last activity for the night- king kong, the musical. paid 70 dollars for my ticket but i am not complaining. you won't get to watch this in malaysia.
regent theatre is really impressive inside. love love love it so much and spent a bit of time gawking at the interior before heading into the hall.
melbournians will get to enjoy this show for the next 9 months.
it was a late late night on friday and i only got back to my sister's house at midnight. yawn. but what a fun day.
