12.06.2010, guangzhou baiyun international airport.
pullman airport hotel.
arrived at 8 plus and headed straight to pullman airport hotel. it was just a short walk from the hotel. it was really a posh and comfortable hotel. of course lah, according to a banner outside the hotel, it was recently awarded 5star. only for rm230+ a night, you can enjoy 5star comfort. what a deal.
the receptionist area. the background is made of marble pieces depicting the baiyun mountains....that is where the name of the airport comes from.
we entered the hotel from the rear, hence we had to go down 3 floors to reach the lobby.
aah.....my room.
yoga mat is also found in the room for die-hard yogis.
the oh-so comfortable bed with so many pillows to choose from. the bottom picture is taken from the bathroom. i think it is the in thing now to have see through bathroom. don't worry, they have blinds you can put down.
the bottom pic on the right is taken from the bedroom.
i don't like the lighting of the corridor though. a bit too dim and reddish. the top right pic is the waiting area of each floor.
had noodles for dinner at a small cafe at the back of the hotel.
a bowl of noodles costs around RMB30-40. it was such a big bowl.
your short walk is reduced to just a few steps to the entrance of the terminal building on this buggy ride.
i noticed most hotels that i stayed in china has this fire escape hood. this is the first time i have seen it hence the photo. i have seen it on sale too. not very expensive but very useful in case of emergency.
we left for guilin the next morning on southern china airlines at 9.40a.m. yawn! i did not get any sleep at all.....so there i was rolling and tossing feeling every inch of the 5star bed. they joked that i got back every cent i paid for the hotel room. dang!!! why did i not get my sleep? beat me. the body wanted to rest but the mind was so damn alert. no, i was not excited. well, the cotton sheets were really comfy.
