goodbye yogya

was going through my yogya photos as i am going to send them to be developed when i realised i still have one batch of photos yet to be posted.
better get this done with.....for personal satisfaction.

so the last day in yogyakarta was spent exploring sultan's places and travelling in beca. we paid 40,000 rupiah for half day ride.

we travelled in 4 becas. damn those beca sellers. we had told them we wanted to go to taman sari (water castle) and kraton (sultan's palace) but they kept insisting bringing us shopping- silver accesorries, wayang kulit, and paintings. i of course did not buy anything. my group only ended up with 3 pairs of ear-rings and a baby bangle.

first proper tourist destination- taman sari/ water castle, where the sultan used to frolick with his concubines on hot days.

aahhh...the inviting water where the sultan spent time with his concubines?? i felt like jumping in too on that hot day.

the observation room.

done with water castle, next, sultan's palace/ kraton.
entrance to kraton, sultan's palace. we arrived with less than 40 mins to explore the place. damn those conniving beca riders who brought us non-stop to handicraft centres.
so the trip in kraton was quite a rush.

well, it rained as the sultan's palace was closing and we had no other place in our itenerary. so we headed back to the hotel in plastic-covered beca. boy, it was stuffy but it kept us dry.

at night, i was too lazy to go out for dinner so i opted for the buffet spread dinner at the hotel with another colleague. the rest went back to malioboro and had mcdonalds. luckily i did not follow, that would definitely be the last thing on my food menu.

well, all in all, yogyakarta was fun and cheap. makes me curious of bandung and medan now. i heard shopping there is even better. i will definitely consider them when airasia decides to give free tickets again hahaha.
