sorry sorry sorry for not writing for so long. work - that is the only excuse i can give.
and you also know lah, when you stop doing something for a while, there is just no urgency to pick it up again.
anyway, i should be quite free this whole week. unfortunately, i dun think anything interesting is gonna happen to me, hence, the page might be left untouched again ;(
if only a blog is as easy to be updated as picking up a book to read. well, to others it might be easier babbling on the blog, but to me at this moment, picking up the book is so so so much easier...haha....because of the silly book i am reading. silly and yet i can't put it down.
yup, i am 'tormented' trying to finish these books with passion. ;)
anyone heard of the fallen series? i first read about the author's visit to malaysia and the plot where a fallen angel falls in love with a mortal human (a 17-year-old) is kinda hard to resist. ok, i am a sucker for this kind of story. remember the obsession with edward in twilight? now, there is daniel, the angel who has lived longer than the vampires ;)
anyway, i kinda regret buying this crap. the writing is nothing to shout about (shallow) and the story is kinda draggy. the only thing that is keeping me going is the ending. i wanna know how the story ends albeit all the flaws.
well, i guess this is what you get, starting this fallen series after reading a book that has been shortlisted for booker prize (sea of poppies). the difference in depth and quality is heaven and hell.
and while flying through the pages of the series, i can't help thinking that a book in england is much cheaper than a proper square meal in a restaurant there. but here, a book is twice the price of a decent meal in a restaurant. who can afford to buy books to read?? don't even mention the library. do you know where is the closest library at your place? see??
some parents have even forbidden their children to buy books because according to them, the book will cease to function after you have finished reading it. poor kids. hence, i have told them they can come to me for books......and i can foresee losing a few books while doing this service to them. lol
now, let's fly to food.
went to kl yesterday for isetan's member sale. i am the driver, so don't worry about me shopping. walked so much and ate so much!!!
lunch was at 2.30p.m. at hutong, lot 10. can't resist the place everytime i am there.
dim sum and fried oysters with egg and popiah. the steamed prawn dumpling is not that good. dun get it. the meat is too soft and fine. blek.
penang assam laksa. love the soup.
claypot yee mee. so-so. i ordered this because it has been a while since i had yee mee.
another reason why we went down was because aunt wanted to exchange her maybank card treatpoints for a netbook at sony centre. ta-da..........
her new sony vaio netbook. love the pink. but still have no chance to try it yet. will try it this weekend when i get back.
my aunt already has a netbook of her own and i have yet to buy mine. hmm......macbook air. wait...that is the aim by the end of this year, i hope.
oh, and last but not least, this should be the last birthday gift of the year.
my own hello kitty cutlery set- original ah. made in japan. instead of using disposable cutlery, i can use these. throwing less rubbish with hello kitty!!!
well, that brings us to the end of the post. gonna pick up the last book in the fallen series now- passion. i hate the book with a passion. hahaha.....i wanna dream of my angel boyfriend too!!!!
