i took the bus to lcct (low cost terminal) this time around. air asia operated bus charges rm9 one way to lcct, but another local company decides to give some competition and charges only rm8. if you buy return ticket, you only need to pay rm14. cheap cheap and very punctual.
flight was delayed for more than 1 hour. so had McD before i boarded the flight. reached phnompenh at around 6p.m. and the sky was already darkening. so much for catching the sunset at by the mekong river. got on a taxi to bring us to our hotel, asia palace hotel situated along the main road of the city: monivong blvd...the longest stretch of road i think. known as the business district. looking at the design of the hotel, one can guess that it is operated by a chinese boss. very like those china hotels.
this is my room for the first night. i will stay in 4 different hotels in this trip!! what? u think i like moving so much??
as it was already dark and it was our first night here, we dared not venture too far. my travel partner (my housemate) and i just walked down the road to see if we can get any food to fill the stomach. we were not that hungry but hey, we still had to eat. almost all the shops were closed except for a few travel shops and chinese restaurants. din feel like eating anything heavy, so finally relented and went back to the hotel where the local version of fast food was operating. so convenient! just next to the lobby.
so this is lucky burger and they sell pork!!! yeah!!! my housemate wanted a pork burger, but too bad, they sold out.
lucky gelato. but not that nice one. oh and all transactions are in US dollar. but you will get those small change in Riel. 1USD=4000R.
my dinner. 2 pieces of fried chicken (yeah i know, fattening) and 2 scoops of ice-cream with too much milk and not creamy enough. USD1.70 + USD1.90. the fried chicken was not bad.
back at the room, started channel surfing. haha...there were more than 30 channels for us to choose from. phew! what a relief. called it a night at about 11p.m. tired after the flight.
